Riding in shows will give you a goal to work toward with your horse. Equine competition is one of the rare and unique sports that is not just about winning, it's about working for your personal best, learning to win and lose graciously, learning sportsmanship and team spirit, using a disappointing defeat to climb greater heights, overcoming performance anxiety--all while creating a bond and partnership with your horse!

Fees Relative to All Competitions:
-
Shipping of horses will be billed at $.70/mile with a $70 minimum fee, plus additional expenses incurred, such as layovers on multi-day shipping trips.
-
Horse Show/Event Hotel Fees for the Dragonfire Team will be split evenly between customers participating at that event/show. We will keep the price as low as possible, although hotel proximity to event/show grounds is a priority.
-
Horse Show/Event Travel Trailer Fees: If we bring our travel trailer in lieu of a hotel, the fuel costs of towing and any hook-up fees will be split evenly between the customers participating at the show/event.
-
Body Clipping: $90 per horse for a full body clip
-
Mane Pulling: $20 per horse
-
Braiding: $25/French braid, $15/tail, $45/Hunter Braids by Jenny, $60/Hunter Braids by Barbara. These are per horse fees.
-
Entry Fees: Entering is the responsibility of the owner. We will help you decide the appropriate level to enter for you and your horse for each competition.
-
Feed/Bedding: At cost and divided between horses participating at that show.
-
Lesson Horse/Show Horse Lease: $50/day
Morgan Shows & "A" Hunter/Jumper Fees:
-
Horse Show Day Fees: $50 per day, per horse from the day before the horse leaves Dragonfire (for preparations like tack cleaning, clipping, bathing, sanding feet, packing, etc.) and including the day it returns from the show. This day fee helps offset the costs of extra Horse Show Management, labor and other expenses. If you trailer your own horse to a show, you should have your horse arrive the same day as the rest of the Dragonfire horses, as you will be billed for the same days even if you are absent. For Morgan World Championships, we will charge a flat rate of $3,250 per horse, which includes Per-Day fees, class fees, furniture, plants and TV rentals, feed and bedding, hospitality, body clipping and hotel.
-
Hospitality/Decorations: Food, beverages, party rentals, etc. will be billed at cost to customers participating in the show.
-
Horse Show Class Fees: $20 per class for preparation of your horse and its tack for a show ring performance. For Schooling Shows, this fee is reduced to $10 per class.
Horse Trials and Three Day Event Fees:
Dressage/Schooling Show Fees:
-
$50 per diem
-
$10 per class
IMPORTANT HORSE SHOW/EVENT ETIQUETTE NOTE: Our grooms work hard to care for and prepare your horse for his time in the spotlight. Please reward them and let them know you appreciate their efforts by tipping appropriately. If you need guidance with your amounts, please talk to Earl, Jenny or Melissa.
